This five-day writing workshop is an invitation to slow down and listen for the moments that have quietly (or loudly) changed us. Not the polished before-and-after stories, but the stories of the middle-- of inhabiting two worlds, of moving forward, of becoming. The moments that asked something of us, unsettled us, nudged us toward a different way of being. Together, we’ll recognize where those invitations to shift, change, and evolve have shown up in our lives, even if we didn’t have language for them at the time.

Over five days, we’ll explore and write our own stories of transformation through engaging, accessible writing practices. You don’t need to be a “writer” or have a finished product in mind. This is about noticing, remembering, and telling the truth as you understand it right now. We’ll write into complexity, contradiction, grief, joy, resistance, and possibility.

This space is especially for those who sense that their stories matter, but haven’t always taken the time to deeply reflect on them. We’ll practice writing as a way to honor our lived experience, build clarity, and witness one another with care. Come as you are. Bring your unfinished thoughts, your questions, your tenderness. The work is not to perfect the story, but to stay with it long enough to see what it has been trying to teach you.

You will leave this workshop with:

  1. A deeper awareness of the moments that have shaped your growth, shifts, and becoming
  2. Language for experiences you’ve felt but haven’t yet named
  3. Several pieces of raw, honest writing rooted in your lived experience
  4. Tools and prompts you can return to when you feel stuck or disconnected from your voice
  5. Greater trust in your own perspective and way of seeing the world
  6. Practice of mindfully staying with complexity instead of rushing toward clarity or closure
  7. Insight into patterns, thresholds, and turning points in your life
  8. Experience writing in a supportive, non-extractive, non-competitive space
  9. A renewed relationship with writing as a practice—not a performance
  10. Clarity about which stories feel alive and ready to be carried forward

Each of our five sessions will start with a brief mindfulness practice to invite us to tune into the present moment. This is followed by a reading from fiction or non-fiction writing that invites us to consider experiences of transformation from a new angle, idea generation and exploration, extended writing time, and time to share and/or discuss (always optional, of course!).

Dates: Monday, January 26th-Friday, January 30th

Time: 4:00-5:30 PM

Where: Zoom (sessions will be recorded and shared with you if you can't attend at this time)

Start 2026 with creativity, clarity, and a writing community.
