What is a writer’s workshop?
Enter Peace small group workshops are a guided, supportive space to explore your ideas, strengthen your writing, and make progress on the stories or projects that matter to you. Through thoughtful instruction, writing prompts, discussion, and feedback, you leave with new insight, practical tools, and writing you can continue to build on.
Matrescence is the developmental transition into motherhood, the physical, emotional and identity shift that happens as a person becomes a mother. Enter Peace runs a writing workshop on matrescence, birth and motherhood, because it is a passage most people go through with very little language for it.
The workshop makes room for the birth story and for everything around it: what changed, what was lost, what nobody warned you about.
As a stay-at-home mom, this online workshop experience gave me the opportunity to connect with other moms without having to coordinate babysitters. I really enjoyed hearing the other birth and motherhood stories and being reminded that we are all on these journeys together, and it always feels easier when we share honestly with each other. The prompts also helped me remember details from my own birth stories that I may never have remembered otherwise!

workshop option 02
Somatic writing
Writing about what your body is communicating to you, paired with a mindful body scan. The tension in a shoulder, the tightness of a jaw, the fluttery feeling in the belly.
workshop option 03
A journey of inner integration and transformation
A process of integrating the parts of one’s self, bridging the connection between body and mind while we write.
workshop option 04
Nature and noticing
Beholding as a writing practice. Choose something and write what you notice, without needing to arrive at a conclusion.
workshop option 05
Writing toward wholeness
A practice of self-compassion and curiosity that helps you notice the inner critic without mistaking it for the inner creator.
These workshops invite educators to step back and ask: why do we teach writing the way we do? What might become possible if we taught it differently? Mindfulness and contemplative practices are woven throughout, offering practical ways to help students slow down, become curious, find their voices, and develop a writing practice rooted in connection rather than correction.
For educators
Do you facilitate writing workshops for educators?
Enter Peace also facilitates workshops for educators about how to integrate contemplative writing into the classroom and authentic writing instruction. Sarah works with teachers on cultivating authentic voice, and creating classrooms where students see writing as a practice of agency and creation rather than just something to be graded.
