Questions

You might be wondering…

I’ve used the same planner for years. Why switch to a new planning system?

If your current planner keeps you organized, great! Praxis does this too, but takes planning a step further. It’s an intentionally comprehensive system that helps you consider the specific community you teach in, build a network of support, develop tools for your own social-emotional wellbeing, and reflect on your practice so your teaching can remain responsive and evolve from one year to the next.

What kind of teacher is this useful for?

This is the secondary teacher edition, made with high school educators in mind. It covers one semester and has room for semester course themes and student information. Any teacher is welcome to use it, and the wellness and reflection pages fit educators at every level.

What is liberatory teaching and learning?

Liberatory teaching and learning invites educators and students to question the systems, assumptions, and power structures that shape education while creating space for agency, curiosity, creativity, and authentic expression. It moves beyond compliance and toward learning that empowers people to see themselves as capable creators of knowledge.

How does integrating my wellbeing impact my effectiveness as an educator?

In the same way that students’ wellbeing impacts their readiness to learn and create, the educator’s wellbeing is the foundation for what they can offer to students. One’s wellbeing shapes how they respond to challenges, build relationships, and make decisions for the school community. When educators have practices that support their whole selves, they create more capacity to teach with presence, creativity, compassion, and intention.

How can intentional planning help us create learning experiences that nurture critical and creative thinking in an age of AI?

The Praxis Plan Book helps educators plan beyond the assignment itself by intentionally creating space for the curiosity, reflection, connection, creativity, and authentic voice of both the educator and students. When we plan for the development of thinkers and creators, rather than simply the completion of tasks, we give students opportunities to engage in the deeply human work of making meaning for themselves. If you want a classroom that feels alive, bright, and energetic, this planner will help you foster it!

Your planning tools should support you, not stress you out. If you’re unsure whether this planner is right for you or have questions about the details, feel free to reach out!
